Welcome to my personal blog! I am Jaap and I work as a cloud consultant at Rubicon. I have a passion for hardware and everything with a power plug and settings menu.

During my career I’ve (literally) touched almost all sorts of infrastructure and user side technologies before I found my way to the cloud. My starting point as system and network administrator provides me with a wide knowledge and understanding of IT architectures, network topologies and securing IT environments (including handling the user (dis)comfort). I approach each situation from a security standpoint and during the years I gathered experience in (hybrid) cloud architecture & design, cloud security and (hybrid) connectivity.

This blog is for me to share my experiences and knowledge with the world and I hope you find some interesting stuff here! I try to cover Microsoft Azure, Cloud Security, Azure DevOps, PowerShell, Bicep and any other topics that I think are interesting. Feel free to copy code snippets or solution ideas, but remember these may need altering to work on your environment.

Artificial Intelligence

As every cloud consultant I embrace new technologies, and the one that we cannot miss is Generative AI. Although the texts on this blog are my own, I refine wording and enrich my content by using Microsoft Copilot. I never use sources which Microsoft Copilot references.
